MEET SARAH GOLOMBEK | Attorney at Law, Esq.

I am passionate about assisting individuals and families in need; supporting and advocating for persons with cognitive limitations who require protection. My clients are like family to me. Regardless of the type of legal matter, I offer my clients comprehensive guidance including a thorough explanation of the legal process and all of the available options at every step. My legal services are uniquely tailored to each client regardless of their situation.

I personally understand how challenging it can be trying to assist a loved one in need and specifically those with diminished capacity especially seniors who are not ready to give up their independence or when complicated family dynamics are involved. I particularly enjoy assisting my clients to resolve complex situations and the family conflict that can often be involved in these matters.

I work closely with my clients in an attentive and responsive manner, walking them through the legal process in a step-by-step approach so that they are making informed decisions along the way.

MY BACKGROUND —

I was raised in Ohio and Michigan. I received my undergraduate degree in honors psychology from the University of Michigan and obtained my Juris Doctor degree from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York. I chose to pursue law because I am passionate about helping others. I have been practicing law since 2003 and I am licensed to practice in both New York and Colorado. Upon moving to Colorado, I was honored to clerk for the Honorable C. Jean Stewart, the Chief Denver Probate Court judge, and I have been in private practice since that time.

MY PROFESSIONAL RECOGNITIONS —

It is important to me to volunteer my time and skills to the broader elder law profession as well as the community at large. I have served in numerous professional roles including as treasurer and secretary of the Executive Counsel of the Colorado Bar Association Elder Law Section, as an editorial board member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA) Journal, and as the President of the Colorado Guardianship Association. I am grateful to have been chosen as Barrister’s People’s Choice Best Trust and Estates Attorney in 2016, and as a Rising Star and Super Lawyer by Colorado Super Lawyers annually since 2012. I get great pleasure in giving back to the community serving on numerous boards of community and charitable organizations and love meeting new people when doing speaking engagements about estate planning and elder law-related matters.

MY HOBBIES —

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and three children who are my world, as well spending quality time with the elderly and persons with special needs. I believe that as part of my professional practice, it is important to dedicate personal time to those who are less fortunate and to impart this value to my children. My family can often be found visiting residents at nursing homes, bringing home-cooked meals to individuals who are isolated, inviting seniors or persons with intellectual disabilities into our home, or taking them on recreational outings such as bowling and trips to the park.

Please feel free to reach out to me to see if I can be of assistance with your legal matter!
